Claressa Shields Lands $8M Multi-Fight Deal With Salita Promotions and Wynn Records
Claressa Shields signed an $8 million minimum-guaranteed multi-fight contract with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records. This makes her one of boxing’s top-paid female athletes.
The undisputed heavyweight champion and two-time Olympic gold medal winner opted to stay with promoter Dmitriy Salita, her longtime supporter, instead of testing free agency.
She praised the advances of female athletes in various sports and felt the deal reflected her accomplishments. “Women in sports have been doing a lot the last past couple years, with the WNBA, soccer, even in boxing. I’m not the only woman who’s making money, but to have this deal get done, I feel like I’m getting my just due. I won two Olympic gold medals, I have 19 world championships and I think it’s fitting to have this great deal come about,” Claressa Shields said.
The agreement with Wynn Records marks an unusual crossover with a music-centric group, making Shields the first professional athlete on its roster alongside acts represented by the agency.
Wynn Records houses artists like Papoose, who is in a relationship with Shields. This connection brings a personal layer to the partnership, blending athletic and Hip-Hop worlds.
Shields highlighted the upfront money as a key benefit of the contract. “The best thing about this deal is it’s the signing bonus, right? So before I step into the ring, I get a large amount. The 8M is just, like, the minimum,” Shields said.
Their romance hit the headlines when Remy Ma, Papoose’s estranged spouse, accused Shields of having an affair with her husband, stirring intense social media backlash.
Remy Ma posted what she said was proof, sending shockwaves through music and sports circles and prompting a public split in Papoose’s marriage.
Shields then called on Remy Ma to step into the ring for a fight. Papoose countered by accusing his ex of repeatedly cheating on him with Eazy The Block Captain.
On the canvas, Shields maintains a perfect 17-0 mark that includes three knockouts. She defended her undisputed heavyweight title against Lani Daniels in July, reinforcing her dominance.
ESPN ranks Shields as the No. 1 women’s boxer pound-for-pound. She eyes a return in early 2026 with anticipation building around her next matchup.
