Avgusta Transforms Heartbreak into 2000s-Style Pop Anthem Right Now

21-year-old international artist Avgusta has released a dynamic new single titled “Right Now.” Infused with a 2000s pop vibe, this anthem turns the sting of heartbreak into a high-energy dance track. The driving beat invites listeners to move on the dance floor or to create their next TikTok or Instagram clip. Released on September 12, it highlights her impressive vocal range and mature tone.

For listeners coping with a breakup, the lyrics lay out that familiar story. She trusted someone who proved unworthy, heard constant messages suggesting she was never enough and finally discovered her own independence. The song opens with the verse:

Now you’re blowing up my phone
Sitting in the studio hearing my phone ringtone
How’d you get my number though?
I’ve told you many times, last time was long ago

Just a few lines later she releases that tension in her chorus: “I know you’re thinking ‘bout me right now.”

Avgusta’s roots span Europe and beyond. She began vocal lessons at age 8 while alternating life between London and Austria. That focus led to a professional studio session at Bravo Records in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she covered songs by Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé and Rihanna. Those recordings honed her technique and offered an early glimpse of her pop-meets-R&B style. By the time she turned 11, she had released her first single. That modest debut opened doors but also revealed the industry’s tougher side. Several years and multiple management teams later, she grew concerned that her trust and ideas were not being respected.

By age 19, Avgusta had reached a breaking point. She decided that self-management would offer greater creative freedom than the rotating roster of industry contacts she had encountered. “My kindness and trust was being taken advantage of. The music industry is not easy… It is really hard to trust anyone,” Avgusta says. She stepped away from traditional management arrangements to oversee each aspect of her career.

Months spent writing, recording and refining ideas in her home studio culminated in the release of “Right Now.”

In the verse that begins with “Now you’re blowing up my phone,” ringing-tone effects pulse through the electronics, adding a playful tie to the storyline. The introduction layers crunchy bass hits beneath descending vocal phrases and echoing percussion, setting a foundation for the chorus. Her chorus delivers the line “I know you’re thinking ‘bout me right now” with full-throated confidence. Avgusta’s vocal performance moves from rapid, low-octave rhythms to soaring, higher-octave belts, showing both technical skill and emotional breadth.

Avgusta shaped the track in her own studio, tracking vocals at home. “Recording a song for me is very intimate. I am truly grateful that I have the ability and privilege to own the right equipment to have my mini-studio set up at home,” she explains. She credits this private setting with allowing her to perfect each take without time pressure. Once the raw vocals were in place, she sent the files to Misha Komlev, who produced the beat, mixed and mastered the recording. The final cut blends hints of Caribbean rhythms with club-ready flourishes that echo Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

Apart from her own song output, she now helps other artists shape their direction. She mentors newcomers, sharing lessons learned in her own career. Drawing on her own experiences, she offers guidance but remains open to finding a manager who shares her creative vision. Her main focus lies in connecting with listeners: “From the bottom of my heart, I truly love connecting with my fans. It makes me so happy to see that my music brings joy to others.”

The official video for “Right Now” went live shortly after the single’s release. In collaboration with director Jon Vulpine, she developed a storyline that reflects the song’s message, contrasting scenes of solitude with moments of high-energy performance. Critics have noted the clip’s bold visuals and confident delivery. Fans have responded on social media, sharing their favorite moments and helping the singer reach a wider audience.

Arriving at summer’s close, “Right Now” combines upbeat rhythms and candid lyrics that connect with anyone who has felt overlooked. The track has quickly found a spot on break-up playlists, and the video continues to earn praise from fans and critics across streaming services.
