DJ Mathematics Sparks Def Squad Comeback on Sinners (Mo Better Blues) With Erick Sermon, Keith Murray & Jamal
DJ Mathematics has united all nine living Wu-Tang Clan members on Black Samson, Bastard Swordsman – Deluxe Edition. Production mastermind Mathematics Allah also orchestrated a Def Squad reunion by bringing Erick Sermon, Keith Murray and Jamal together on the track “Sinners (Mo Better Blue),” which taps into a ’90s hip-hop spirit. It reconnects the trio with their early sound and injects a contemporary edge.
Following its release on April 25, 2025, Black Samson, Bastard Swordsman arrived after a long wait and linked back to The Saga Continues. It offered fans a musical bridge to Wu-Tang’s final tour, which moves through iconic venues before concluding July 18 in Philadelphia.
Allah Mathematics handled production and arrangements throughout, crafting all-original tracks with no samples. He focused on fresh melodies, punchy drums and gritty bass. The album includes verses from every original member—RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa and Cappadonna. Listeners can hear the tight synergy among the artists and a raw energy that honors the group’s enduring heritage.
